Lipid Nanoparticle Study selected for Best of Biophysical Journal 2023
February 2024. Great honor: Our study on mRNA lipid nanoparticle phase transition (Biophys.J. 121, 3927-3939, 2022) was selected for the Best of Biophysical Journal 2023 and featured at the symposium at the 2024 BPS Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. It shows and characterizes for the first time the lipid nanoparticles employed by BioNTech/Pfizer within the Comirnaty vaccine. Our simulations suggest an oil-like core of the LNP that is composed of the amino lipid and cholesterol at a ration of 72:28. The lipid core is surrounded by a lipid monolayer formed by DSPC, the aminolipid, PEGylated lipids, and cholesterol at a ration of 22:9:6:63.
Congrats to Marius Trollmann!!
